find your mallard

There wasn’t some life-altering event that took place that sparked my love for mallards. It was just another day. I was at my good friend John’s apartment idly looking around at his decor when I spotted it. Missing an eye, a head that had been glued back on, a well cared for ornament. A small, ceramic mallard figurine. I asked John for it. He said: “no.” This was the spark. A seemingly insignificant moment. But one that changed the course of my life. 

For the next two years I looked for duck decor everywhere I went. Duck mugs, duck plates, duck shirts, duck art, any and all things duck. After I had an entire bookcase full of duck paraphenalia and 

Soon enough people started noticing. Close friends would tell me if they saw a duck. I recieved duck themed birthday gifts. After I had an entire bookcase full of ducks.
